Lush coffee estates, cascading waterfalls and cool forest air — Coorg at its most spectacular during the monsoon season.
Coorg — or Kodagu — is one of South India's most enchanting hill destinations. Tucked in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, it is a land of sprawling coffee and spice estates, dense forests, ancient temples and a proud warrior heritage. During the monsoon season (June–September), Coorg transforms dramatically — waterfalls roar to life, the estates turn a vivid green, and the cool mist over the hills creates an atmosphere that no other season can replicate. This short retreat is designed for those who want to step away from the noise, breathe deeply and experience India's coffee country at its most beautiful.
Coorg is ideally accessed from Bangalore — just 4–5 hours by road from Kempegowda International Airport, making it a perfect long weekend escape for guests flying into Bangalore from Ahmedabad, Mumbai or Delhi. It is also conveniently reached from Mysore (2.5 hours), Mangalore (3 hours) and Calicut (3 hours).
Arrive at your nearest gateway city and meet our representative. Proceed to Coorg through the scenic Western Ghats highway (approximately 3–4 hours from Mysore, 3.5 hours from Mangalore, 5 hours from Bangalore). The drive itself is beautiful — winding roads through rubber and teak plantations, glimpses of the hills ahead. Check-in to your estate or forest resort. Evening walk through the estate grounds. Overnight in Coorg.
Full day exploring Coorg's highlights. Morning visit to Abbey Falls — a 70-foot waterfall that is most dramatic during the monsoon, set in a private coffee estate with a hanging bridge. Continue to Raja's Seat — the hilltop garden where Coorg's kings watched the sunrise over the valley. Visit Madikeri Fort, the historic garrison of Coorg's Kodagu kings, and Raja's Tomb, the mausoleum of the last rulers of the Kodagu dynasty. Evening back at the estate. Overnight in Coorg.
Morning visit to Dubare Elephant Camp on the banks of the Kaveri River — watch the mahouts bathe and care for their elephants in the river, and interact with these gentle giants up close. Return for a guided walk through the coffee and spice estate — your host will show you coffee, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and cocoa growing side by side and explain the processing from harvest to cup. Afternoon at leisure — the resort pool, spa treatments, or a gentle forest walk. Optional: Nagarhole National Park half-day jeep safari (additional cost, subject to availability). Overnight in Coorg.
Early morning drive to Irupu Falls near the Kerala border (approximately 1.5 hours) — a sacred waterfall in the heart of Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary, associated with the legend of Rama. The forest trail to the falls is short and beautiful. Return to the resort, check out, and proceed to your departure point. Overnight not included — this is a departure day.
